Taking Responsibility

Covid-19 and the production chain

The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic has turned many lives upside down. The virus is affecting so many people and in so many different ways. The consequences for the economy are starting to take shape. It is affecting us, our retailers and at the end of the supply chain it is affecting the suppliers and garment workers the most. Passing on our problems will not make them go away, but instead these problems will affect all the individuals who count on us. That is why Alchemist has decided to take its responsibility. We want to be clear: We will not cancel our orders with our suppliers.

If we were to do this, the consequences for suppliers and garment workers would be unthinkable. In many of these production countries, social security is not a given and many workers are unable to support their families in times of crisis. As a brand that distinguishes itself as sustainable and ethical, we believe that we can make a difference for them here.

By continuing our orders, we can continue to support suppliers and garment workers inside and outside Europe, and continue the trusted and fair partnership we have worked so hard to achieve in the future.

Alchemist retailers

We also remain loyal to the retailers who sell Alchemist. They are of course an important part of the chain and the relationships we have built with them are very dear to us. In addition to thinking along with them in various ways during these difficult times, we also come up with online actions to direct the attention of our audience to them. For example, we came up with a campaign to highlight a different retailer every day on our social media channels, for everyone who wants to contribute to the local entrepreneur. We owe this opportunity to a fantastic community of consumers who value supporting local companies and stores, and thus support Alchemist and its retailers.
