I believe that sustainability should be high on the agenda for every brand these days. I feel privileged to design for Alchemist, a pioneering brand in sustainable fashion. This way I can combine my love for fashion design with a good cause. My personal challenge is to constantly look for new ways to contribute. This gives a greater depth to the design process. Respecting and redefining Alchemist’s values in every garment, closely maintaining and strengthening its strong signature, seeking and discovering more sustainable materials, and building committed relationships with our suppliers.

Before I started working at Alchemist, I didn’t really know what went on behind the scenes of a clothing brand. Like many of us, I would buy a piece of clothing and not really think twice about where it came from. Since I started working here, I’ve learned how important it is to be involved in every part of the process, from the very beginning of production to the moment the clothes are added to our customers’ closets. Luckily, we can really make a difference, because sustainable fashion is here to stay! Alchemist has an amazing story to tell and I’m excited to share it with the world.

Selling high-end fashion is one thing, but bringing sustainable clothing to the market is really worth it in my opinion. Clothing made with respect for people and the planet. More and more people want to know where their clothes come from. So I am proud that we can answer that question honestly. Alchemist has always had a strong focus on sustainability from the very beginning and I think it is beautiful to see how that resonates with more and more people. The importance of sustainability can no longer be ignored.

When I started, I didn’t even know how a t-shirt was made. But today I can say with confidence that Alchemist garments made in Portugal are made with love for the customer. I have been working as a textile agent for over 25 years. I love my job and the excitement that comes with the world of clothing. Every day brings new challenges. Not all of them are easy to solve, but the satisfaction of seeing the final product in the hands of my customers makes it all worthwhile. Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with some really great customers and extremely professional manufacturers. But I love working with Alchemist because of their strong focus on the sustainable fashion industry. The customer dreams, I start the whole process and the manufacturers bring those dreams to life.
