CARE

Did you know that at least a third of the ecological footprint of our clothing comes from the way we treat it? So it’s time to take matters into our own hands and change this. The longer you can use a garment, the more sustainable it becomes!

Wash when necessary

Instead of washing your clothes after wearing them once, take a critical look at your clothes and consider whether it is really necessary. In general, you can wear clothes like chunky sweaters, pants and skirts multiple times. Is there a small stain? Then tackle the stain separately!

Wash cold and gently

When you wash your clothes at a lower temperature (max. 30 degrees Celsius), you protect them from shrinking and damage. To keep the colours beautiful for as long as possible, it is best to wash your clothes inside out. If you are not sure whether the clothes can be machine washed, use a washing bag or wash the item by hand. Items with beads, embroidery, delicate details or details that can damage other clothes are best washed in a washing bag.

Not too much detergent

It can smell really nice, but if your clothes smell really strongly of soap after washing, you've probably used too much. The measuring cups that come with detergent can sometimes contain up to ten times more detergent than you actually need for a wash!

Air dry

Using a dryer can shorten the life cycle of your garment considerably. When you (partially) switch to air drying, you protect your clothes from shrinking and damage. When you hang your laundry neatly, it also saves you a lot of ironing, win-win! In addition, dryers are also the most energy-consuming appliances in a standard household, so in addition to emitting less CO2, you also save money!

To smoothe

Most irons have different settings, so before you start ironing, check that the iron is set correctly for your garment. When using a steam iron, you should take into account that the steam is always 100 degrees Celsius. To ensure that you do not damage your clothing or that the iron does not leave marks, you can place a tea towel or hand towel between your garment and the iron.
